All Set for the Indian National Memory Championship 2017

The D- Day for the Indian National Memory Championship – 15 October 2017, Sunday is fast approaching. Hyderabad, the happening city of India is all ready to host the 8th Indian National Memory Championship 2017 at Jal vihar, Necklace Road, Tank bund on the banks of Hussain Sagar lake.

Squadron Leader Jayasimha, the President World Memory Sports Council for India is pleased to announce that the Number of Registrations have crossed 300 and we are surely going to set a new record for being the Biggest Indian National Memory Championship ever. We have Memory athletes coming from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam, Orissa, West Bengal, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Utter Pradesh and Punjab. The overwhelming response this year is an indication that we are on the right track to host the World Memory Championship in India in 2020.

A quick update on the progress:

Guests Arrival :

Mr Phil Chambers, the Chief Arbiter World Memory Sports Council for India and Mr David Zhang, the President World Memory Sports Council Asia Pacific Region are arriving on 13th October 2017.

Arbiters Training :

The Arbiters Training by Mr Phil Chambers is scheduled for 14 October, Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm at Hotel Abhinand Grand, KPHB, Kukatpally followed by lunch. More than 50 volunteers have registered for this training. Any one still interested to undergo Arbiters Training can contact Squadron Leader Jayasimha on 9866018989. All the participants will be awarded LEVEL 1 Arbiters Training Certificate by World Memory Sports Council.

Arbiters Committee :

Mr JSP Raj from Hyderabad and Mr PavanBattad from Pune will head the Arbiters Committee for the Indian National Memory Championship 2017.

A Software team headed by Mr Siva from Eluru will feed the scores in the spreadsheets and give us event to event results for the information of all the Participants and witnessing parents/ visitors.

Memory Contest:

Entry into Jal vihar :

The Registrations will start at 8 am at Jal vihar on 15 October. The Championship is scheduled to start at 9 am. On 15th October, due to Police Marathon being organised at People’s Plaza on this Sunday, all the memory athletes are requested to follow the route of Sanjivayya Park to Jal vihar. We have obtained the requisite permission from Hyderabad Traffic Police for allowing our vehicles into Jalvihar. We are indebted to Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic Hyderabad Dr V Ravinder, IPS sir and Assistant Commissioner of Police Traffic Manohar sir for giving us special permission for our participants from Sanjivayya park route so that we can start our championship on time.

Hence, all the participants are requested to follow this route only and our team will be there en route to Sanjivayya Park to issue Vehicle Passes and participant passes. Any problem or inconvenience, please contact on 8498005454 or 8309599565 or 9866018989.

Registrations :

On filling up the Registration Form, the participant will be issued with a stationery kit containing Pen, Pencil, Scale, Eraser, Sharpener, Tea/ Coffee Lunch, Dinner Coupons and a T-shirt. All the participants will wear the T shirt before entering the hall. For the first time, we are providing a branded new T shirt to all the Memory Athletes by World Memory Sports Council for India. This will give a grand look to our Memory Championship.

Parents / Visitors witnessing area :

Since Jal vihar is a beautiful place situated on the banks of Hussain Sagar overlooking the statue of Gautama Buddha. Lots parents, teachers and visitors would like to witness the championship. We have organised a waiting area for the visitors adjacent to the hall with chairs and  giant LED Screens to witness the event live. The Lunch/ Dinner/ Coffee/ tea Coupons will be provided by the organisers at a nominal price for the interested parents.

Event Schedule :

The Championship will begin at 9 am.

Lighting of the lamp and declaration of Championship Open Dr Francis Xavier, Father of Memory in India & Guru who trained Squadron Leader Jayasimha in Memory.

There after 10 events will happen under the personal supervision of Mr Phil Chambers, Chief Arbiter World Memory Sports Council and Mr JSP Raj & Mr PavanBhattad.

There will be a Tea break at 11 am.

Lunch break at 1 pm

Tea break at 3.30 pm.

The Championship will get over by 5 pm.

There is a Cultural Program comprising of Magic Show, Dance, Music by Magic Chaplin Mr Chokkapu Venkata Ramana & team.

The award ceremony will begin at 6.30 pm

Dinner is scheduled for 7.30 pm.

Departure at 8 pm.

Prize Money, Trophies, Medals and Certificates :

The winner will be awarded the title, “The Indian National Memory Champion 2017”, a trophy, a certificate along with Prize Money of Rs 1,00,000/-. The First Runner up will be awarded a trophy, a certificate along with a prize money of Rs 50,000/-. The Second runner up will be awarded a trophy, a certificate along with a prize money of Rs 25,000/-

In each event, the toppers will be awarded a Medals and a certificates.

In each category of Kids, Junior, Adult and Senior Category – all the three toppers will be awarded medals and certificates.

All the participants will be awarded Participation Certificate.

The scores  of the participants will be displayed on the www.nationalmemorycouncilofindia.com website and also www.worldmemorychampionships.com website and www.jayasimha.in website as well.

All the glittering trophies, medals and certificates are ready.

This is to inform all the Indian Memory athletes that participation in the Indian Memory Championship 2017 at Hyderabad is mandatory to participate at the World Memory Championships 2017 happening in China in December 2017.

India Book of Records Certificates :

The event is also being monitored and officially supervised by the India Book of Records adjudicators. The toppers in each event will be awarded an“India Book of Records Certificate” and their photographs and names will be there in the India Book of Records. Hence, it is a golden opportunity for all the participants to become Indian Memory Record Holders as well.

Mr K K Raja from Exotic Events is organising the entire event at Jal vihar in such a professional manner. We are very grateful to him and the authorities of Jal vihar for allowing us to host the event. We also thank Magic Chaplin Mr Chokkapu Venkata Ramana for accepting our invitation to entertain the participants in the evening from 5 pm to 6.30 pm.
